Nora Rose Tomas
THIS YEAR THE SAME AS BEFORE
I am grieving
my body like a dog the
dog running down
the sidewalk and there
was a woman too
the woman and the body
and the dog and the grief
they all catch up to me
at the same time
they make me stumble
into the sidewalk
and I kiss the sidewalk
and my mouth is bleeding
grief and I no longer
want to look like a woman
in this body I wish I could
write a way to be the dog
the dog is wounded and
bleeding and I am the dog
and we are both hitting
hitting the sidewalk
and the grief pours
out of us like silk
